Taylor Hagler Takes Top Ten at Lime Rock Park
Known as the “Bull Ring”, Lime Rock Park played host to the TCR class feature Lime Rock Park 100 on Saturday. Taylor Hagler clocked a top ten finish of seventh in the No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
Lime Rock Park holds significance for Hagler as it is the site of her first IMSA win in 2021 on the way to her first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge championship.
New for the race weekend, Hagler and teammate Michael Lewis swapped duties with Lewis qualifying and starting the race and Hagler closing.
Lewis qualified the No. 1 Hyundai fifth on the starting grid, but quickly advanced to fourth on the first lap of the 1 hour, 40-minute race. The No. 1 BHA squad elected to prolong the first stint which allowed Lewis to cycle up the leaderboard before coming to pit lane at the 50-minute mark in first.
Hagler climbed aboard the No. 1 Hyundai to close the race and returned to the 1.530-mile course in seventh. The Texan racing driver focused on the task ahead and pushed the Hyundai entry.
Hagler was racing quick and clean until with just one minute remaining on the race clock, a competitor pushed Hagler spinning the No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR. Hagler moved quickly to get restarted and recovered the position lost due to the incident. Hagler crossed the finish line in seventh.
After six weeks of continuous racing, Hagler heads to the infamous Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a test before returning to Road America for the seventh round of the 2023 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.
Taylor Hagler, Driver of the No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR:
“We didn’t have the end to our day that we had hoped for and that is disappointing. We had a good car and the opportunity, but we will focus ahead to Road America and how we can rebound there.”
