Hagler finishes 5th in TCA Championship with consistent results in Las Vegas
As for the majority of competitors, Taylor Hagler was new to the circuit at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Taylor worked with her coach and the X-Factor Racing Team to dial her Honda Civic Si TCA car in during Thursday and Friday practice. Unfortunately, qualifying was cut short due to a red flag and Taylor was not able to show her true potential and ended up 10th for Race 1.
Hagler made a good start during Race 1 and moved up to 8th early in the race. She was able to match the pace of the group ahead and was working to track them down throughout the race. Her tenacity and consistent run was rewarded with the P6 at the Checkered Flag. Taylor’s rival for 5th place in the championship was struck with bad luck and she was able to extend her lead to 20 points over 6th place.
Taylor’s day on Sunday was hampered by a damaged transmission during Race 2. She was able to make another strong start and gain one spot from her 8th place starting spot. She would hold station in P7 after a long battle with Mark Pombo in the #59 Mini. As the transmission issue became more prevalent, Taylor went into maintenance mode to try and bring the car to the finish. The result for Race 2 was an 8th place finish, and more important 5th place in the SRO TCAmerica TCA Driver’s Championship.
Taylor Hagler would like to thank her season sponsors for all of the support this season: X-Factor Racing, Honda Racing HPD, G-Loc Brakes, Scott Adams Driver Development, HRX USA, Minus 273, Flying Money Racing, and Blake Clements Racing.
