Battle to the Checkered Flag for Taylor Hagler at The Glen
One day after winning her second race in Fanatec World Challenge America powered by AWS competition, Taylor Hagler came up just shy of another podium in a spirited finish Sunday at Watkins Glen International.
Co-driving with Jacob Abel in the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3, Hagler applied steady pressure on the second-place car in the Pro-Am class throughout the final stages of the 90-minute race. When the third-place Pro competitor joined the three-car battle with two minutes remaining, Hagler got caught out and dropped two places to fourth. She made a spirited bid for third coming to the checkered flag, but came up only 0.286-seconds short.
Abel started the No. 93 Acura in 10th overall, seventh in Pro-Am. He managed to gain two positions throughout his stint before the pit window. Hagler took over with 40 minutes remaining, running fifth overall and third in class, and spent her entire stint battling for position ultimately crossing the finish line in fourth.
Next up for the Fanatec World Challenge America competitors is a visit to Sebring International Raceway for a pair of 90-minute races on Oct. 2-3. The season concludes with the Indianapolis 8 Hour, an Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Oct. 17.
